FOR SALE - MAK SICCAR

Portling Fisheries offer for sale the vessel ‘Mak Siccar’ a 11.9m steel multi-purpose workboat. Prior to sale the vessel continues to be available for charter.

This vessel was built in the port of Palnackie, Southwest Scotland, to Work Code 3 specification. It was designed and overseen by Scottish Consultant Naval Architects, A.G. Salmon & Co. It was commissioned in May 2002.

Here you can view images and details of the vessel including video of the boat at work. Just click on the relevant link from the menu above.

The boat was designed with versatility in mind and can be employed on a variety of marine duties including fishing, shellfish harvesting, dive support, dredging, anchor/cable handling, supply vessel duties, pontoon handling, safety support and the like.

Recently the vessel has been operating on shellfish harvesting operations in the Solway using sea bed fluidisation techniques and as a support vessel for diver harvesting of shell fish off the inner Hebrides. It has also been successfully involved in the recovery of equipment lost during offshore engineering works.

The images of the vessel on this site show it rigged for shellfish harvesting operations. Three methods of mechanised shellfish harvesting can be employed using the vessel but only one is shown here - we’ll be pleased to provide further information when you enquire.

The vessel has a current UK fishing licence (CAT ‘C’ shellfish with scallop entitlement; 167.25 VCU).

The vessel is for sale complete with all electronic equipment, fishing gear and licence  - offers over 240,000 GBP. Offers will also be considered for the vessel without gear and licence.

Further details and arrangements to view the vessel can be made by contacting Cliff Henderson, (Managing Director and proprietor of  Portling Fisheries) telephone 07860 235570 or use the contact section for further contact options.
